Lazy Saturdays
Well, today was a nice, relaxing Saturday. I slept late, did my recycling, and did a lot of cleaning that I've been putting off since...well, basically since I moved in (I'm still not done yet, but my main room is starting to look like a room instead of a storage facility).
However, it soon became obvious that one group of people was hard at work. Specifically, telemarketers. Despite the fact that I'm on the do not call list, about 5 of them called me today (or so I assume...I eventually stopped answering the phone, and nobody who called left a message). The call volume should have tipped me off sooner, because I average almost to people actually calling for me in a week.
Actually, I could tell (each time) after picking up the phone. There's the 1-30 second pause between when their auto-dialer reports a connection, and when someone starts talking. So, they all got to hear the magic works, "Please take me off your call list." Which has a slight chance of working, but not much more than that.
