How many more days...

I recently noticed Christmas trees for sale in one of the local grocery stores. It's barely October, and there are at least 2 other major holidays between now and Christmas. I wonder if this is part of a marketing strategy that actually works (aka gets people to buy more crap they don't need), or if it's purely designed to irrate people who try their best to ignore Christmas.

Both, I guess. But I hope the trees are fake; if they aren't someone's miscalculating badly - in all probability they'll be dead well before Christmas (well, if I had one it would be, that's for sure).

I'd hope so too (that they're dead). On the other hand, it might be some new marketing strategy...buy one Christmas tree in October, and then another one for Christmas when the first one dies.
